September 1999A Day of Celebration
Bright sunshine and a cool breeze bathed the joyous ground-breaking celebration for PGCC's new worship center on Sunday, September 19. An enthusiastic crowd formed a caravan from the Lodge to the building site for worship and thanksgiving. Greetings were brought by PGCC Building Chairman Henry Hanser, Dan Kinnoin, Architect, Bob Reeve of Reeve-Knight Construction, and Claudia Gamar, Mayor pro tem of Roseville. The choir joyfully sang, "Holy Ground." Turning the first shovels were Al Enos and Marion Kilgore, representing the congregation, and Pastor Gene, followed by ministry representatives Sheril Mulanix, Bible Studies; Dell Wilkinson, Choir; Stan Hogshead, Men's Ministries; and Janeen Mattiuzzi, Women's Ministries. As the service closed, many others came to turn some dirt. Now that the building has been launched, we are praying and trusting God for the safety of the workers and for the resources to continue. A committee headed by Al Enos and Bill Stone will conduct the second phase of the building capital campaign. We are grateful for the support and unity so evident among our people, and look forward with great anticipation to the completion of the worship center. |
