Reflections From Summer Series

Preparing the Ice CreamEnthusiastic Sunday evening crowds have been enjoying “That The World May Know,” the video series on the Holy Land. The Focus on the Family films were shown on eight successive weeks, each followed by an ice cream social.

Ray VanderLaan, historian and Bible scholar, provided historical backdrop, descriptions of life in Bible times, and pertinent faith lessons on each of the sites visited. Responses from those who attended included:

Getting Ice Cream Ready“I gained a lot of knowledge about the places Christ lived and ministered.”

“Not only did we learn many new things, but we also enjoyed the fellowship times that followed the videos.”

“I loved hearing the history – I learned all sorts of things I didn’t know. The faith lessons have been wonderful!”

Eating Ice Cream“We were pleased with the narration. It was well done and authentic.”

“I understand so much more about the Holy Land now. Seeing the picturesque panorama while Mr. VanderLaan presented the history was wonderful.”

For those who were unable to attend all eight sessions, make-up viewings will be available. Please add your name to the listing at the Information Desk.

These photos show the obvious enjoyment of the fellowship times. Special thanks to Henry and Penny Hanser, Al and Anna Enos, and Walter and Joann Kerfoot, who were involved in organizing and serving, and to the many who helped with setup and cleanup!
