Choir sings some different tunes

Which member of the choir was once a smoke/fire jumper? Who won an Olympic Gold Medal in archery? Who sang with a swing band in the mid-50s? (Click for answers) These and other questions served as an icebreaker for a “Singing ‘Round the Campfire” social enjoyed by choir members and their spouses on January 22nd. Here are a few memorable scenes.

George Latter toasts a marshmallow over the “campfire” centerpiece while Terry Snook laughs. The creative decorations carried out the theme of the evening.

Ready for some “campfire grub,” Don Throp, Beverly Ekdahl, Frank Carter, Karl & Rachel Herrgord, and Lois Coady are in line for the chili potluck.

M.C. for the evening was Jill Henricks (pictured), who served on the organizing crew, along with Sharon Donaldson, Betty Fritsch and Rose Hespenhide.

Sherrie Carter and Len & Betty Fritsch lead the group in campfire singing. Each table was asked to lead a song.

“Table 5” takes their turn in leading the group singing. Left to right are Nancy Banks, Mary & Ted Smith, Gerry & Doug Mathews, and John Bradley.

(At front table) Betty Williams, Jan & Dean Percy and (backs to camera) Jim & Maxine Gruebele; (clockwise around back table) Nick Pauls, Joan & Walt Kerfoot, Jorene & Rodger Page, Darwin Sunday, and Esther Pauls try to place names with photos of famous musicians.
