Belief, Value and Vision
Pleasant Grove Community Church is an interdenominational Christian church made up of adult members from various backgrounds, united by our faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We trust in the essential doctrines of our faith as proclaimed in the authoritative Word of God, the Bible. We express our faith in love for each other, love for our neighbors, and loving service to those in need in our community. Our mission is to reach out to the people of Northwest Roseville and its nearby communities with the Good News of forgiveness and salvation. We fulfill our purpose through traditional services, Bible study, discipleship ministries, group fellowship, and support to missions at home and abroad. In so doing, we seek to share the joy of God’s love and His plan for our lives that leads to eternal life in His presence. We welcome visitors and new members of all ages.

I AFFIRM my confidence in the Bible as God’s inspired inerrant Word. I treasure its truths and respect its reproofs.
I ACKNOWLEDGE the Creator-God as my heavenly Father, infinitely perfect, and intimately acquainted with all my ways.
I CLAIM Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior—very God who came in human flesh—the object of my worship and the subject of my praise.
I RECOGNIZE the Holy Spirit as the third member of the Godhead, incessantly at work convicting, convincing, and comforting.
I CONFESS that Adam’s fall into sin left humanity without the hope of heaven apart from a new birth, made possible by the Savior’s blood sacrificial death and bodily resurrection.
I BELIEVE the offer of salvation is God’s love-gift to all. Those who accept it by faith, apart from works, become new creatures in Christ.
I ANTICIPATE my Lord’s promised return, which could occur at any moment.
I AM CONVINCED that all who have died will be brought back from beyond—believers to everlasting communion with God and unbelievers to everlasting separation from God and eternal punishment.
I KNOW the Lord is continuing to enlarge His family, the universal Body of Christ, over which He rules as Head.
I AM GRATEFUL to be a part of this local church which exists to proclaim God’s truth of love and grace so that people everywhere can choose to be His disciples, to administer the ordinances, to stimulate growth toward maturity, and to bring glory to God through God-honoring worship and service.

The Bible |
We believe the Bible is divinely inspired by God and is complete and without error in its original writings. We believe God gave us the Bible:
-
To show us God’s sovereignty;
-
To instruct and train us in how to live;
-
To convict us of our sins;
-
To teach us discipline and obedience;
-
To reprove and correct the error in our lives;
-
To spread the message of God’s love and hope we now have in Jesus.
II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:20-21

Holy Spirit |
We believe that the Holy Spirit is God’s comforting presence with us today. We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. The Holy Spirit is the supernatural agent in regeneration from spiritual deadness to spiritual life. We believe the Holy Spirit baptizes all believers into the Body of Christ, indwelling them and sealing them unto the day of redemption. We believe the Holy Spirit guides us daily in God honoring living.
Romans 8:9, John 14:26, John 15:26,
I Corinthians 12:13, Ephesians 4:30

|
Jesus Christ |
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became man without ceasing to be God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. We believe that Jesus was crucified on the cross and that through His sacrificial shedding of blood, payment for our sins was made. We believe that Jesus arose victoriously from the grave, thereby offering to us through faith in Him, everlasting life. We believe that Jesus ascended to heaven where He is preparing our eternal home. We believe His return is imminent to receive unto Himself all those who have received Him as personal Lord and Savior.
John 1:1, 14, I Thessalonians 4:14,
Acts 1:10
|
|
God |
We believe in one God existing eternally and equally in three persons: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. We refer to them as the Trinity.
Matthew 28:19, Exodus 20:4-6,
Acts 17:24-25
|
|
Man |
We believe that man was created by God in His image. Because of Adam’s sin, all mankind is born with a sin nature, separated from God, destined to die and be eternally alienated from God. The good news is found in salvation.
Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 3:23,
Romans 5:12
|
|
Salvation |
We believe salvation is God’s answer to man’s sin and death dilemma. Salvation is God’s love gift graciously brought to lost and dying mankind through Christ’s substitutionary death on the cross for the forgiveness of sin. All who by faith and in repentance, accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, are saved unto eternal life.
John 3:16, Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9, Ephesians 2:8,9
|
|
The Church |
We believe the Church is the body of Christ in the world today. Christ is the head of the Church. All who by faith trust Christ as their Savior and Lord become members of the Church, God’s eternal family. We believe that the mission of the Church is to honor and glorify God, and to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every person.
Ephesians 1:22,23, Matthew 28:18-20,
II Corinthians 5:18-20
