ROMANS

Paul wrote to encourage the Christians in Rome, and to the Christians in Roseville, stating that Christ Jesus had come to set them free from their sins. We will study the second half of Romans, with a study guide, learning how we can be successful modern day Christians. As we study Romans we re-examine our commitment to Christ and reconfirm relationships with other believers.

Leader: Ken Bosanko
Meets: Every other Monday, 7:00 p.m.
Location: Dean & Jan Percy’s home
(Class size limit: 18)

GROWING OLDER AND WISER

We study books of the Bible using a study guide, usually the IVP LifeGuide series. This fall we are doing a topical study, “Growing Older and Wiser” by Dale and Sandy Larsen. Each session is based on a passage of scripture from the Old or New Testament.

This study is currently full, but if you are interested, please contact Jim or Marge Lynch.

Leader: Jim Lynch
Meets: 1st & 3rd Tuesday, 7:00 p.m.

ACTS

The key verse in Acts is 1:8: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

This study ended last spring with Peter’s vision of a sheet being lowered from heaven with all kinds of creatures—clean and unclean—and a voice commanding him to kill and eat. Had it not been for this vision, Peter would have been unprepared for what was to come—sharing the gospel with the Gentiles! The study will begin this fall with Chapter 11 and Peter’s defense of his actions. Come and study with us as we take a fresh look at the early days of the church, and as we seek application for our lives today. (Two identical classes are planned.)

Leader: Jerry Montgomery

Class 2:

KOINONIA

Do you want to try something different from traditional Bible studies? Then Koinonia may be your answer. Koinonia is the New Testament Greek word describing an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and others. The five key elements of Koinonia are: Prayer, Bible Study, Sharing, Ministry, and Celebration.

Koinonia Groups are:

  • A place where people can build relationships with others and develop a sense of belonging to the church.

  • A place where we can be the body of Christ through an intended long-term association, with care for one another.

  • A place where Bible study, prayer for each other, sharing joys and concerns, and growing to love one another are blended together in a home social setting.

Groups have 10-14 members. Leaders and hosts are rotated among willing members. There are two groups that have openings, with studies in progress. Other groups will be started depending on interest. Both groups meet in various homes.

Koinonia-1: Uses Life Guide Bible Study Curriculum and will study The 10 Commandments by Rob Suggs.

Begins September 19

Koinonia-2: Uses Foundation Principles by Anne Graham Lotz.
